The sand from the RIver Thames

In London June.

I happened to see that the iron doors were opened and people could go down to the beach of the River Thames when I was walking along the Southwalk.
（I have a feeling that we couldn't do that before.）

So I bought a bottle of water in a hurry and step down the stairs to the sandbank and collected the sand of The River Thames in it, for the project in the future.

You can see St Paul's Cathedral in wright hand side.



６月のロンドン。
テムズ川沿いのサウスウォーク遊歩道を歩いていたら、テムズ川の岸に降りる階段の扉が開いて降りられるようになっているのを見かけた。（確か以前は、川に降りることができなかったような気がする。）

そこで、急いでミネラルウォーターのボトルを買って砂州に降りて、今後の制作プロジェクトのために砂を採集した。

画面右に、セントポール大聖堂が見える。

Art Basel 2013

Last week I was in Basel Switzerland to join the "Art Basel 2013".
It will be the third year since my works were exhibited in Art Basel by Gallery Koyanagi but it is the first year for me to visit there.
The red and white paintings were painted with the fired sand collected from the River Kamo in Kyoto.
I participated the vernissage on the first day.
I enjoyed a lot of fortunate meeting with people who could share the joy of Art, as well the joy of tranquility around my painting in the crowd.


先週、スイスのバーゼルで「アートバーゼル２０１３」に参加しました。
ギャラリー小柳さんからの出品は今年で３年目になりますが、バーゼルに行くのは今年が始めてです。
赤と白の絵は、京都の鴨川で採集した砂を焼成して描いたものです。
二日間の内覧会の初日に出席しました。
アートの魅力を共有できる方々との幸運な出会いに恵まれました。そして、混雑した会場にあって、私の作品の周りの静けさをともに分かち合うことができました。
